Designed in 1952 by George Nelson, these elegant lamps rest on a sturdy and lightweight steel frame while forming an airy and delicate ensemble. Nelson was inspired by a set of Swedish pendant lights covered in silk that he wanted to acquire for his office. Unfortunately, their price seemed unaffordable. Nelson being a designer as clever as he was resourceful, he embarked on the creation of the first set of Bubble lamps by spraying a white and translucent resin, a technique developed at the time by the American army. Nelson drew inspiration from various simple and authentic shapes to design these pendant lights.
