In 1978, the Bensimon family received 100,000 white gymnastics tennis shoes from the French army. Serge dyed these tennis shoes. After extensive research and a long development process, he perfected a technique capable of coloring the canvas without bleeding onto the rubber. Inspired by this experience, Serge imagined a new model: the famous lace-up tennis shoe. Iconic, timeless, classic, essential… The lace-up tennis shoe is like a white shirt: everyone should have (at least) one pair in their wardrobe. A model that hasn’t aged a day since 1979 and is still passed down from generation to generation. This color is one of the permanent ones: that is to say, it goes with everything and has no expiration date.
